My Trip to Busan

Buddha's Birthday is a national holiday in Korea, meaning NO SCHOOL! And Buddha's birthday this year happened to be on May 21st, my birthday! Yay! So my good buddy Lawrence and I went to Busan for the long weekend.
-
The first stop of the first day in Busan was at this amazing restaurant!

This beautiful looking pot of deliciousness is 돼지국밥! Busan is known for having the best 돼지국밥 and I agree.

That's Lawrence pointing to his 돼지국밥.
Next we went on a hiking trail with stops along the way. We had the option of either walking the trail or taking this cartoonish looking train. We walked. There was a big line for the train.
One of the stops.

Another stop: a temple.

This was both encouraging and discouraging at the same time.
Another stop: a light house.

After the light house stop, we decided to wait on the long line to take the train to our next stop. So we waited for about 30 minutes. We got on the train after waiting 30 minutes. Then about 2 minutes into the ride, my friend realized we had to get off after waiting on line for 30 minutes. Good times =D haha.
At our next stop we had pre-dinner. Live octopus and live sea cucumbers.
And to prove that they were alive...

The octopus were sticking onto the chopsticks.

DELICIOUS!...but actually it wasn't. It was an experience though.
Then we went to a fish market to have dinner.

For dessert...팥빙수!
And that concludes the first day.
-
The next two days in Busan were....meh. I felt sick in the morning (probably from the live seafood) so the day didn't start off too well. And it was raining...I HATE RAIN!
This is 해운대 beach. My mom told me she used to go to this beach often with her family. That's why it was extra special.

Then we went to a museum. It was dead in there. We were the only people there.

40 Steps: "A few streets of a grubby district have been 'restored' to their condition in the post-Korean War 1960s, with wooden lamppost and bronze figures illustrating scenes of hardscrabble street life." -Wikitravel Busan
The guide told us that these steps was a common meeting ground.
Afterwards, it was raining so much that we just went back to our hostel early. And that concludes day 2.
-
The next day...more rain. We had an amazing breakfast: American continental breakfast! Then we went back home to 증평. I'll admit that the rain got the best of me and kind of ruined the trip for me, but it was a good thing my friend Lawrence always had a high spirt during the whole trip to balance the mood out.
Until next time! BYE!
